Get ready for Salado’s Memorial Day celebration at The Shed! Join the community for a full day of not only music, food, and games, but also gratitude as we honor those who gave everything for our country. The festivities kick off with an open mic from 1–4 PM, followed by live country music from Angelyn and her band starting at 6:30 PM. We’ll also have a bouncy house for the kids and a special 15% discount for all active and retired military. No tickets needed—just come out, relax, and enjoy the day with our Salado community!

Memorial Day Block Party – Honoring Our Veterans
Join Dan’Nece at The Golden Flea in Killeen on May 24th for a fun Memorial Day block party dedicated to honoring our veterans from 11 AM to 4 PM. This free community event will feature free haircuts, conversations, and donated gifts like hygiene items, clothing, and more. Dan’Nece has already kicked off the donations with new T-shirts and tumblers, and she’s encouraging you to bring more donations. Vendor spots are also free for those who want to get involved. So, come out, show your support, and help make the day truly special for those who served!

Rucks On Main 2025 Memorial Day Ruck March
Rucks On Main is back for its Memorial Day weekend ruck march in downtown Temple, Texas. This military-themed event invites participants of all backgrounds to carry up to 40 lbs of non-perishable food in their rucksacks to be donated to local charities. The 6-mile route goes through downtown and North Temple, with each marcher receiving a t-shirt at check-in and a commemorative patch at the finish. After the march, stick around Santa Fe Plaza to enjoy food, local craft beer, and great company. We recommend signing up for pre-registration to guarantee your shirt size!

The Salado American Legion Post 585 is hosting its second annual Memorial Day Cornhole Tournament on Sunday, May 25, 2025—and you’re invited! The Silo Bar will open early for this special Sunday event, so come ready to play and raise a glass. Teams of two can register for just $40, either online or on the day of. With great competition and fun prizes up for grabs, it’s a fun way to spend the holiday weekend at Salado’s favorite brewery, Barrow Brewing Company.
